Sometimes, it is difficult to live in a working environment without complaining. In some situations, we find ourselves out there making complaints about colleagues, company, and the mainly: the boss. More than ever many bosses are literally cursed in the Internet. On Twitter, it is common occasionally find someone complaining about the boss, cursing and venting it. But who never ever complained about the boss can through the first stone, right? But there is a way to change this reality. Have you ever thought about giving a feedback to your boss?
Of course, there are cases that the level of the professionals ahead of the teams is not always appropriate, so that leads to complaints. And that are many bosses who still do not have adequate knowledge of management techniques, leadership and on how to motivate their team, provide feedback and promote interpersonal relationships.
The first challenge is to reverse the roles and think a little about how people react on the other side and act on this situation. Often we see things only from our perspective, we as victims, and just thinking about the problem, instead of thinking about how to solve this problem. This is an important ability to develop: to manage our leader. There are some people that need to be managed consistently and work in a reactive way to goals, challenges and their relationship with the leader. But there are also the most active professionals, who are always interested about the environment of the company and end up pushing the leader forward, and this is a great attribute.
Feedback
Sometimes, we forget that our manager, just like ourselves, also needs feedback, opinions from an outsider and questioning about his work, so he can make the best decision. We usually forget this and end up accommodating and letting things pile up instead of taking action and the consequences are not always good. We must keep in mind that not only the employees need feedback to improve. It is imperative that the business leaders learn where they are wrong. Why not enrich the relationship between leaders and employees?
Of course, is needed to take into consideration each situation and each company’s existing policies. Anyway, it never hurts to make an effort and try to improve your relationship with your manager and your career within the company.
In many cases the managers themselves are not open to that possibility, but Human Resources department of the company or small actions on day-to-day helps to develop this habit and influence other people to do the same. As hard as it is, is a challenge for all professionals, but it is a wining case because it contribute and improve your life at work.
